Summer Reads, 2007
Jonathan Gold's Summer Reads:
Jonathan Gold, food critic for Los Angeles Weekly, recently won the first Pulitzer Prize for food writing. Here are some titles currently on his night stand:
- Osterie de Italia. This guide from the Slow Food people focuses on the extremely local places off the beaten path in Italy. It is now published in English.
- The End of the Line: How Overfishing is Changing the World and What We Eat by Charles Clover (New Press, 2006).
- The Big Oyster: History on the Half Shell by Mark Kurlansky (Random House Trade Paperback, 2007).
