Carolin Young brings a rare combination of multidisciplinary scholarship in the arts, food, culture, and history to her unique work as a dining historian. She is the author of Apples of Gold in Settings of Silver: Stories of Dinner as a Work of Art to be published by Simon & Schuster in the fall of 2002. The book will tell the story of twelve dinners from European History, from the monks at Cluny to the Surrealists in the early twentieth century. Ms. Young delivers extracts from the book in an ongoing lecture series at the Sotheby's Institute of Art in New York City. She designs a dinner to follow each lecture. For information on this popular series contact Sotheby's Institute of Art.
