Copper River Salmon

Jon Rowley, a lifelong scholar of the seafood industry from harvest to table, is one of the nation’s foremost seafood experts. Jon’s unique expertise has been used by congressmen, transportation companies, wineries, food editors, cookbook authors and publishers, trade associations, and universities. He has consulted on numerous prominent cookbooks, serves on a number of advisory boards, and conducts seminars on food and wine for a variety of organization. In 1987 he was inducted into the "Who’s Who of Cooking in America" for his work improving seafood quality.

Each spring Jon is a member of the team that goes to Alaska to bring back the very first fish of the season. The arrival of the Copper River king salmon is a major media event in Seattle where Jon is an organizer of the Copper River Salmon Festival promotion for Seattle’s upscale Queen Anne/Admiral Thriftway store.
