Ligurian Olive Oils
October 11, 1997

Fred Plotkin, author of Recipes from Paradise: Life and Food on the Italian Riviera, says Ligurian oils are distinctive because they come from a single variety of olive rather than the blend of olives found in other oils, such as Tuscan.

Fred’s picks of Ligurian oils include Roi, Rainieri, Isnardi, Ardoino, Carli, and Santaggata. Check specialty food stores for these oils or try a good mail-order source such as Zingerman's.
