Pork Pot-au-Feu with Vegetables

Chef Stéphane Reynaud leaves us with his recipe for a traditional French pork dish he loves to prepare for company. Get the full recipe.

Lynne's Homemade Butter

When making butter, the better the cream, the better the butter. It's worth checking out local farms for their cream. And, yes, different creams do have different tastes. It's that "terroir" thing. Get the full recipe.

Listen

Jane and Michael claim the "krunkest" (hottest, biggest and best) hot fish sandwich in town has to be the Giant King at East Side Fish. Two one-foot-long fillets of white fish are deep fried until they're crispy on the outside, then splashed with hot sauce and sandwiched between four slices of white bread. Michael says the fish is hot enough to "slap yo' mama."

Don't go to East Side Fish if you're in a hurry. It takes a good 15 minutes to make that giant sandwich. And don't plan on lingering leisurely over your meal because there's only one table. Everyone eats in their car or takes their food home. One more thing ... the sinus-clearing hot wings are a must, too, if you dare.

Tortilla Artist Joe Bravo

There's several ways of looking at that old 1980's deal "the media is the message." For California artist Joe Bravo, it's quite literal. Once a painter of grand murals, he's moved on to painting on tortillas! Take a look at his Website for more information. http://www.joebravo.net.

Portuguese wines to watch

Wine Spectator's Kim Marcus claims the next great reds are coming from an unexpected source: Portugal. Here are his picks of wines and vintners to keep an eye on.
