Champagne Cocktail

Adapted from Straight Up Or On the Rocks by William Grimes (North Point Press, 2001). Copyright 2001 by William Grimes.

Makes 1 drink

  • 1 sugar cube

  • Angostura bitters
  • 4 ounces chilled champagne
  • Twist of lemon

Place the sugar cube in a chilled champagne flute and moisten with a few dashes of bitters. Add champagne. Garnish with the lemon twist.
