What a time of year for a family afternoon of walking in the country. If you live where the leaves are going crazy with color, all the better. But as long as there's a nip in the air and the sun is shining, it's the perfect time to get out of the house.
When you come back home, get together in the kitchen and pull together this easy Sunday supper. It's a modern take on autumn in New England. The favorite foods are here - the squash that's prime right now, fresh pressed apple cider, great maple syrup and Vermont cheddar, our favorite autumn meat, pork, and the best pears and nuts of the season.
