Cheese monger Steve Jenkins says forget the girls of summer and go for the cheeses. In summer, animals are eating the highest quality grasses and foliage, and it's prime time for fresh cheeses. Here are some to try:
- Tomme de Savoie
- Morbier
- Mahón from Spain
- Fresh goat and sheep cheeses like Brin d'Amor
- Drizzle honey over sheep or goat cheese then grind some fresh pepper over the top.
- Burrata from Apulia and Basilicata, a classic mozzarella with a buttery cream inside. It's worth the splurge.
