Wines for $5.00 and Less
Joshua Wesson's Picks
October 5, 2002
Joshua Wesson of Best Cellars believes it isn't necessary to break the bank to drink decent wine, but he outdoes even himself with these finds, all priced at $5.00 and under:
From Portugal:
Famega: A delicious white vino verde with a bit of fizz priced at $5.00 a bottle.
J. P. Vinos: Tinto, with its cherry fruit, could be a stunt double for wines costing $10 or $15. Happily, it's only $4.99.
From Spain:
Protocolo: This $3.99 red wine from La Mancha goes with everything.
From Chile:
Casona: An unoaked chardonnay priced at $4.99.
