Hungarian Wines - The Next Big Thing?
July 23, 2005

Listen to this feature (How to listen)

Josh Wesson thinks Hungarian wines will be the next big thing. Hungary is the 11th largest wine producer in the world, growing dozens of grapes and making mostly white, cool climate wines. Here are a few to look for:

  • Craftsman Journeyman's Red Kekfrankos Merlot. A bargain at about $6.00.

  • Monarchia Budai Irsay Olivier. About $11.00.

  • Royal Tokaji Red Label 5 Puttonyos. About $30.00
