Lambic Beers
November 10, 2001

Listen to this feature (RealAudio; how to listen)

Lambic beers are the most eccentric style of commercially made beer. Brewed with wild yeasts, these beers have a wine-like quality, are very dry and almost effervescent. Stephen Beaumont, author of the Premium Beer Drinker's Guide, recommends three, all Belgian imports:

  • Cantillon Brewery
  • Lindeman's Brewery (try both the fruit Lambic and their traditional cuvée rené)
  • Drie Fonteinen (new to North America)
