A Mid-Atlantic Road Trip That
"Follows the Brew"

August 2, 2003

Listen to this feature (How to listen)

Steve Beaumont, author of The Premium Beer Drinker's Guide, says head to the Mid-Atlantic and "follow the brew" for a fun road trip.

Begin in Philadelphia, a great beer town with a large Belgian influence. Stop by Monk's Café for Belgian-inspired food and a huge variety of beers, imported and not. More breweries to check out include Victory Brewing with their Golden Monkey Belgian-Style Ale; Yards for their Trouble Yards, a beer named because it's half way between a double and a triple; The Abbey's standard tap, and the list goes on and on.

Continue to Adamstown in Pennsylvania Dutch country where you'll find Stout's Brewing Company, then on to Pottsville and Yuengling Brewing, the oldest brewery in the United States.
