For a big night out in Le Mars, Iowa, the Sterns say go to Archie's Waeside, a classic Midwest supper club. The superb beef is aged on the premises. Ask for the "Benny Weiker"—it's the secret code for a 21-day dry-aged, center-cut filet that is out of this world. It's not on the menu, so remember the code! All dinners are served with a relish tray, salad, hash browns, corn fritters, and, curiously, corned beef that's corned at the restaurant.
If you can manage dessert, head down the street to the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Shop.
