Café Atchafalaya
January 18, 2003
It's all about fabulous vegetables at this Deep South Creole café in New Orleans' Garden District. Think corn fritters, beans and greens, candied yams, field peas, and crunchy fried green tomatoes. The list is endless, and you can happily make a meal from the wonderful offerings.
Entrees are excellent, too—things like hot-spiced crab, stuffed pork chops, and spiced meatloaf. Top it all off with that must-have New Orleans dessert: bread pudding with cognac sauce.
