The Sterns think the Pacific Northwest has the best breakfasts in the entire country! When they're in the area and waffles are on their minds, they head to Fresco Caffe in Portland, Oregon. They serve three meals a day at this town café, but the breakfast fare is what Jane and Michael go for.
Waffles are the highlight here. The oat waffles (thin treads!) are first rate, and the crushed hazelnuts put them over the top. Other great breakfast dishes include "complicated potatoes"(roasted red skin potatoes topped with veggies and cheese), steamed scrambled eggs, and homemade granola.
