Michael Stern is mad for Red Hots - the Chicago hotdog. For the best in the world, Michael suggests heading to Chicago and the Red Hots at Poochie's in the Skokie area, although he readily admits you cannot go wrong with any Chicago Red Hot.
Poochie'sThe red hots here are garlicky, all-beef Viennas, boiled or charred over coals and served up on fresh, soft, poppy seed buns, along with any or all of a variety of condiments. The French fries are pretty fine, too, with crunchy skins and creamy insides. Better yet, go for the cheddar fries gobbed with melted cheese
