The menu at Jake's lists sandwiches like pastrami and hard salami, hot dogs, and soups like your mother never made, but it's best known for its classic corned beef. Meltingly tender meat is hand sliced before it's piled onto local Miller Bakery's seeded rye. Jake's opened its doors in 1935 in a neighborhood that was mostly Jewish at the time. It's been a Milwaukee icon ever since.
