One of the strangest, most isolated hot dog traditions has been going strong for more than 60 years exclusively at McSweeney's in upstate New York. Elsewhere it might be called a chilidog; here, it's an aberration called a "Michigan." A special boat-shaped bun holds a small pink wiener smothered in chili. Ask for the onions "buried," as the locals do.
McSweeney's is a drive-in joint, open all year, with car hop service outside and counter or table service inside.
