Molasses and Coffee

Molasses is a New England tradition so the folks at the Portland Coffee Roasting Company in Portland, Maine thought it fitting to serve molasses in their coffee to celebrate Patriot's Day (President's Day to the rest of us). The idea stuck and now coffee with molasses is a tradition, too. When you go to this coffee house on Portland's waterfront the Sterns say don't pass up the espresso sweetened with molasses!
