Sam's Grill, CA: Sam's Grill
March 24, 2007
Listen to this feature (How to listen)
Sam's Grill is, literally, a blast from the past. Financial district types have been power lunching here since 1867. The décor is old San Francisco fancy and the waiters wear tuxedos. Jane loves the private dining booths enclosed behind curtains with a buzzer to summon your waiter.
It's pretty much about seafood here, but the Hangtown Fry, mock turtle soup and steaks are noteworthy, and Michael says the sourdough bread is some of the best he's tasted.
