When traveling in the vicinity of Cabazon in the California desert, watch for the life-size dinosaur right off the highway. It's your clue that the Wheel Inn truck stop is nearby. Pull in and get ready for the wonderful food they serve here: huge breakfasts, huevos rancheros, great steaks and stellar pies (they bake a dozen varieties each day.) The restaurant is run by a husband-and-wife team. He trained in Czechoslovakia; she is the elegant hostess dressed in black. Before you leave, walk inside the Brontosaurus where you can buy souvenirs.
