Lynne's Bed and Breakfast Pick
in Salt Lake City, Utah
December 16, 2000
Lynne loves any chance she gets to go to Salt Lake City so she can stay at the Wildflower Bed and Breakfast, located about five minutes from downtown and run by Cill Sparks and Jeri Parks, two women who have become her friends but, as she says, "I'd still heartily recommend the Wildflower even if I knew nothing about Cill and Jeri."
It's all about guests comfort at the Wildflower, an old Victorian house on a quiet side street in a neighborhood that's nice for walking. All of the antiques-furnished rooms have private baths and superb beds, most of them king size. Located on the top floor is The Bird's Nest, a two-room apartment with kitchen, bath, and a big deck with a view of the mountains.
Cill makes the kind of breakfast that eliminates the need for lunch, and she usually has a bottle of wine open for guests each day around 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. Jeri's paintings a featured throughout the house.
