April 14, 2001
Listen to this feature (RealAudio; how to listen)
Food and travel writer Anya Von Bremzen, author of Please to the Table: The Russian Cookbook, says Copenhagen is the world's hot spot for design these days, and it has an incredible array of great restaurants as well. Here are a few of Anya's favorites:
Schultz: This temple of high design serves wonderfully innovative food. Don't miss the parsley ice cream.
Søren-K in the Black Diamond: This new extension to the Royal Library is named for Søren Kierkegaard, the Danish philosopher and father of existentialism who secretly squandered his inheritance on extravagant four-course meals. Søren-K offers wonderful pickled herring.
Passagens Spisehus: Located in the up-and-coming Vesterbro district, the Nordic food served here includes reindeer, salmon chowder, and cloudberries.
