Bargain Burgundies
January 15, 2000

Listen to this feature (RealAudio 3.0; how to listen)

Think Burgundy and most of us think expensive, but Master of Wine Mary Ewing Mulligan says there are some bargains out there in the $10 to $18 range. These less-expensive but decent wines come from vineyards anywhere in the Burgundy region, not just from a specific area, and most producers make wines at this price level. Look for these name brands:

Reds: Louis Jadot, Bouchard Pere, Antonin Rodet

Whites: Bouchard Pere, Olivia Leflaive, Verget
