Norma's is an unpretentious diner in Seaside, James Beard's hometown on the spectacularly beautiful Oregon coast. It's an easy drive from Portland and worth the trip.
The local petrale sole is utterly fresh and perfectly prepared. The Dungeness Crab Louis is nothing short of amazing. Don't miss it. Excellent chowder comes with big hunks of garlic toast on the side, and the oysters are fresh out of Willapa Bay. Sip one of the Oregon wines they offer.
