Red's Eats
July 23, 2005
Listen to this feature (How to listen)
You'll find lobster rolls everywhere in Maine, but the ultimate roll is at Red's Eats, a humble place about the size of a newsstand in the picturesque village of Wiscasset. Be prepared to pay. Red's lobster rolls run a cool $14.00, but they're made with the meat from a lobster weighing at least one pound. The line can be long, especially in summer, and dining is at outdoor picnic tables overlooking scenic Route 1. It's worth it.
