Meat and Three at Rotier's
September 8, 2001
For Nashville hamburgers and "meat and three" go to Rotier's, beloved by locals for the burgers served on toasted French bread and held together with toothpicks because they're so tall. It's also the place for the southern classic "meat and three" platter—a piece of meat (fried chicken, meatloaf, or chicken fried steak) and your choice of three vegetables from a list that includes turnip greens, fried okra, crowder peas, squash casserole, and black-eyed peas.
The Sterns also favor Sylvan Park, a very modest little room where they serve three or four meats and 20 different vegetable sides, including the best mac 'n' cheese Michael has even eaten.
